On Sunday, I hosted a D9 Connection Meeting. On Tuesday, I visited Adams Elementary and volunteered in their Pre-K class. It was wonderful to spend time with such awesome students and amazing staff.

As many of us gather with family and friends this week to celebrate Thanksgiving, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful that I have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Wake County. I am thankful for all the input families, students, staff, and others share with me. I am thankful for the opportunity to volunteer in our schools and attend a wide variety of events to support our students. I am thankful for our school staff's willingness to step up and do what is needed to provide our students the supports and services they need. I am thankful for parents and other community members' willingness to volunteer their time and resources to help support our students and schools. Thank you!

On Wednesday morning, I attended the student-led Tobacco-Free Community Forum. The students did a great job with presentations, voicing their concerns, and advocating. To view information about the event, click  here . Later on Wednesday, I attended two additional events: the East Cary Middle School Student Showcase and a press conference.
