On Tuesday, I attended the Reedy Creek Magnet Middle School Beginning Band Concert. It was wonderful to hear directly from the students about their progression of learning. The students and Band Director, Ms. Torres, did a fabulous job! Later on Tuesday, I attended the Davis Drive Middle School Dance Show. Congratulations to the dancers and Director of Dance, Ms. Winans, on a fabulous performance. On Wednesday, I attended the West Cary Middle School Beginning and Concert Band Performance. The band students and Band Director (and drummer), Mr. Anderson, were terrific! It was also great to visit the Art Gallery. A shoutout to the art students and art teacher, Mr. Miller, for a job well done. On Friday, I visited Farmington Woods Elementary School for the Gift of Reading Annual Event. I had the honor of reading a story to a first grade class and three second grade classes. On Saturday, I will be closing out my week by joining the Cary High School NJROTC at Hillcrest Cemetery for the Wreaths Across America Event.

  • Dr. Martin, Committee Chair, shared information about new business to be considered for future Facilities Committee Meetings such as sustainability. I did request there be discussion of sharing resources available districtwide for school projects because there are groups, businesses, and more willing to donate to school projects and this would address some inequities around the District.

  • Douglas Congdon shared the three month forecast for Facilities. Use this link to view that forecast.
